The pitching of tents at night, the unpitching of tents in the early morning.
The bobbing effect on land, after kayaking for 8 hours, 16km.
The aching shoulders of heavy loads, while journeying from camp 2 to Chek Jawa, 12km.
Jetty jump, or rather, commitment jump, into what seems like the unknown blue sea.
Avoiding bad sunburns because of the numerous layers of sunblock.
The insect repellent that did not work very well, especially at night.
Waking up to find my sleeping bag wet because the tent's flysheet had not been tied down properly.
Cooking ourdoors with solid fuel and finding extra mass tins after cleaning up.
The good friends I made along the tough way.
Above all, the countless guidance and encouragement from the instructors.
This is OBS. :)

Now that I am finally home again, I can feel the excitement of Saturday and Sunday. :D

The joy of a well-loved Sunday is one of the best things in life! :D TG! and, yesterday's cellgroup was :D, because Shumin shared many stuff and I was a bit? surprised when our youth pastor came up and joined in, sharing with us many, many things. (My vocabulary is seriously inadequate in describing something that is more than just a "thing" and more than just plain "nice".) So, what I meant to say was that this weekend, more than just "things" happened and God's blessings are far more than "nice", putting nicer than "nice" people in my life. :D

If I had to tell anyone anything right at this moment,
I tell them that I am exhausted but super thankful about the weekend.
On Saturday, there was jamming in the morning and actually, I wanted to spend my time in church doing homework till the reunion dinner started, but I went to buy the food for the reunion dinner with them. Then, when we all got back to church, many people helped to prepare the numerous amounts of food. Through all these, I saw the love and willingness in everyone. :)
The reunion dinner from evening till night was spent eating, talking, sitting in one corner, watching people go by, seeing her come to talk to me and playing one short round of polar bear.
It was so fun and I was so relieved that someone came to talk to me even though she could have talked to just about anyone else present.
I am glad that God placed her in my life :D

Yesterday, my uncle found a hundred dollars in the dustbin at home. It turned out that my three-year-old cousin had actually thrown the money away after taking it out of his red packet. He chose an empty, invaluable red packet over lots of cash.

This is so weird but now I feel so motivated to tear out that all-too-familiar envelope out of my ODJ and send it soon to RBC Ministries so I can get my own copy through the mail! This all happened because I saw an envelope from RBC addressed to my sister and it looked so exciting!

School's been fine but all the tests have come, gone and are coming again. I made friends with the scholars in my class too!

The decision to stop hesitating and start doing something came last Sunday during sermon, it really felt like God said "Yes"! And even after, I still didn't quite know what to do. I asked God to send someone to help me take the first step, and He did! He didn't just send one, he sent two people :) If not for any of them, all that has happened this weekend would never have been possible.

I am so glad that God made a way!

I really like my literature and chemistry teacher! All the teachers are very nice to us too. :) Now that I have free periods while my classmates take their full humanity subject, I have time to complete homework as I freeze alone under the cold temperatures in the library. School isn't all that bad for now.
The homework, tests and assignments are about to sink it pretty soon.

And other than all this, I am still thinking, waiting, trying, praying, worrying and very much confused about it.
I need to do something about it very soon.

One year ago, I struggled to make the decision.
I said "Yes" to piano because I didn't have the courage to say "No".
From that moment on, I thought that I could put this matter aside and not think about it for a very long time.
However, it was after I said "No" that many things started to happen. The desire that should have been gone for ages by now still remains, together with a stronger longing and a passion.
After that one long year, I realised that perhaps it will always remain a part of me, until the day I decide to do something about it.
Maybe after one year, it's all too late to change. I don't know what I should do, it's an undecided decision, an unanswered question. But, I don't want to give up on this.

Christmas eve was great! :D

It was fun to stand at Block 11 with Timothy, showing people the way to our church. There were not a lot of groups of people walking past us and heading for the party, so me and Timothy talked to each other because we were bored. (:

It was great to see many people eating, chatting, laughing in the car park.

The attempting to talk to Hui Juan's friends was kind of weird but worth a try! (:

The skit was really enjoyable and entertaining at some parts. :D

After the end of it all, I spent my time searching and watching for the right moment to give my presents and envelopes.

I feel so blessed by the little gifts that I have received this Christmas and all the SMSes and little notes. (:

All these would never have been possible without the love of God, when He first decided to send Jesus down to this earth to save us! :D

I enjoyed walking today! :)
I walked the 3km route with Min Min right beside me and a pretty yellow daisy in my hand. (:
We walked past the Singapore Flyer, a Raffles Education building and a building called The Gateway which looks really flat when you see it from a certain angle.
I never knew swallowing/sucking helium can make your voice cute, squeaky and high, until Theresa and Esther started doing it. It was really funny and very amusing. :)
At Vanessa's house, Hui Juan showed me many tambourine steps. (:

Yesterday, I went up to Sunday School with Sze En. :)
For a very long while, she stuck close to me, refusing to socialise with the kids around her.
Her face was expressionless as she watched everyone.
Then, at the end, when the teacher placed a piggy gummy into her mouth,
she opened her mouth wide and showed me the sweet.
She shut her mouth and gave a little grin.
Her grin broke into a smile as she sucked the sweet
and she smiled
and smiled
and smiled
and smiled.
She was happy. (:

As a child, we were easily contented.
We were happy when we were given a sweet, a gift or when we made a friend.
When we grow up, it is much much harder to be happy and we are hardly ever contented.

I kind of figured out what makes me happy and contented. :D

Now I have so many things to thank God for.
My overall results for the whole year were much better than my EOY results :D
It was really much more than I had expected!
I think I will take full literature and elective history.

Although I do sort of enjoy studying it(abit), but it will not help if I continue taking it, because it is so hard to excel at it.

Today, I had another relaxed morning writing a chinese composition while sitting at the kitchen in church. (:
I enjoy doing homework in church. :)
Then, I went for 3rd service with Rebecca and thereaftter we had lunch.
I like spending Sundays in church! (:
I just feel so satisfied and happy, it's a feeling of family and everytime I come back,

On Monday, I had my final Japanese lesson for this year :D It's finally over, but it just means that the Japanese exam is much closer.
On Wednesday, I had my english oral, and the teacher seemed to be looking at everywhere else around her except me. It was not good, but at least it's over. :D
Right after the oral exam, it rained so heavily that my umbrella became rather useless. I ended up drenched from bag to shoes.

Many, many things are going to over soon, I just have to hang on with God's help for the next 3 weeks. (:
and tomorrow is yet another exciting weekend!
Weekends are an exceptional case, you never have to hang on tight, you never have to hope for it to be over. All you have to do is to enjoy it to the fullest :D

I absolutely enjoyed ushering at Destiny Music Awards yesterday, with Jovi, Wai Lun and Min Min (: It was rather fun because Jovi came up with many silly but funny ideas, like saying "See you in 15 minutes" (in a sing-song voice) then "See you in 14 minutes" and so on. :D
I got to listen to really good music, played by bands and professional people!
I got to feel excited and really happy when I heard which band won :)

I thank God for the holidays! I managed to read, relax, do homework, study and sew :D
Recently, I started going to Sunday School at the 3rd floor, to help out and take care of my youngest sister. My youngest sister is extremely lazy, she doesn't want to do the actions and I have to hold your hands to make her do them (and even then, she is still rather reluctant.) Plus, she doesn't want to stand up properly because she wants to lean on me. Still, I find it fun and enjoyable to help out. I like the way the children smile, because they are really cute. :)

School is starting tomorrow!
I can't wait for Tuesday (night) :)

Today was flagday! Min min, me and Hui Juan went togther to the areas around Tampines MRT and the areas around Ikea. I don't think I collected a lot of money though, because my can was only half-filled in the end. Before we headed back to church to return our cans, we went to Ikea to eat meatballs and hotdog buns. :)
It was fun :)

Just a few minutes ago, I found a picture storybook from the library on the floor at home.
It was titled "If Jesus came visit me" :D

If Jesus came to visit me,
I know just what I'd do.

My piano exam was finally over on Tuesday, after the many hours of practice!
The more I practised, the more meaningless it seemed.
During the exam,
I made mistakes in all the scales I played,
I played the sightreading too slowly,
I performed the three pieces without an accurate tempo,
I sang very out of tune for the aural tests!
It doesn't matter anymore though, because its over (:

Oh and I really thank God for the cell group time last Saturday,
even though Shumin was not there and me and Sin Yee had to join Angie and Sarah's cell. ;)
It was very meaningful, funny and thought-provoking. :D

I survived the first week of school only to remember that there were still 9 weeks to go :D
Deadlines have started to pour in and homework has piled. These were the good things that happened along the way:

Monday:
While tiredly making my way to 3rd language class after school, saw an sms from Shumin which was rather encouraging :D

PRAYERMEET!

Wednesday:
What really cheered me up was how Sarah baked cupcakes for the whole of 2M and Judith wrote all 32 birthday cards. And then they gave it to everyone beacuse there was a mass surprise birthday celebration in class(:

Thursday:
Netball :D and after that, saw an sms from Huilin (:

Friday:
We played softball during PE!

Saturday:
with cell group :)

I am going to survive the next 9 weeks with God as my focus and church as my motivation! (:

I had never thought, never realised and never strongly felt that this land that I live in needed to revive so badly, more than anything else.

This week was rather fruitful and well-spent!
On Tuesday, my cell had a cell outing with everyone present. :D
On Wednesday, me, Jane, Liz and Louisa had fun at Kallang. (:
On Thursday, me, Louisa and Lisa did the biotech competition project report at Lisa's house and got to eat lots of good food. :D
On Friday, back at Lisa's house, had more fun and finally finished our 11 over pages report. (:

I am looking forward to spending countless times in the company of my friends in church on Sunday. Although next week will be the last week of the holidays, I am quite excited because of the One Love Conference. (:

Ever since I moved into Bishan and took the house out of the packed boxes two weeks ago, I realised one will never get much of a chance to walk on an empty pavement or pathway. Everywhere you look, there are people travelling to and fro. Last time, at pavements and pathways around parts of Braddell, there will always be empty and silent most of the time. There was always a chance to sing a song while walking along the path :D Now at Bishan, I can't really do that. I think I really miss the sound of crickets at night and the chirps of birds in the morning. At Bishan, the road is very much alive. The sounds created by a lorry, car, motorcycle and bus driving by is distinctly different. Still, I thank God for this new home. It's like a new beginning and environment, a place that is much more convenient to get around. One day, I will discover the silent and empty pavements and pathways of Bishan. Then, I will lift my praises to Him once again :D

After 4 days and 3 nights of laughter, I'm back home again.
Through this camp, I made 2 new friends, learnt more about the youths and had lots of fun during the water games, veggie trail, sandwich-making competition, meal times, CSI, the times spent with my dorm people, camp fire, the process of learning mass dance and singing the heart-warming campfire songs. ;D
I really enjoyed myself (: There was quite a lot of really good food to munch on while being in the company of hilarious, caring and thoughful people! I had too much fun :D
The committee really did a great job in organising 爱屋及乌:D

untaken road

I took the untaken road and now I am back, it was fun.
but hard to live by while coughing
and coughing non-stop.
even harder to survive while feeling very blind
and watching the blurred trees go by.
In the blink of my eye,
four days are gone,
ROCs 2 is over,
and now back in Singapore again!
I can't wait for tomorrow :D

a hundred dreams

Last year after GDOP, I remember gazing at the stage and telling God that I wanted to be on the stage serving Him one day.
This year, God gave me the opportunity to be part of the choir :D
Along the way, I learnt how to serve, dance and sing with a smile, and I got to interact with adults who I never thought I would have anything to do with considering how influential and "big" they were. I saw courage in people, the way they cared and how they would sing their hearts out for God. (:
Most of all, I saw how much effort and time one had to put in order to serve God.

Today was a very beautiful day!
and in less than 12 hours time, I will probably be at Malaysia already!

Ever since I clambered up the piano seat 10 years ago,
I have never enjoyed any bit of it.
I should have known, but I didn't.
This is the aftermath of 10 years.
Millions of terrifying scales, dreadful classical pieces,
every hour of every week of every year.
Every week, I sit on the same seat for an hour,
and the teacher says "play it again" and again and again.
The same scales, the same 3 pieces, again, again.
and every week I stare at the same notes and yet I struggle to read them properly.
My ears receive the meaningless music,
I look at the notes, the notes look back.
I ask the same question
"What is the meaning of this?"
and the notes echo silently
"No meaning, no meaning at all."

This was "lunch", rice, mayonnise, teriyaki sauce, tomato ketchup and cheese wrapped in an egg :D I made two! One for me and one for my younger sister (: And this was what was actually going on in the room when we were studying together!
My sister invented a slide using the mattress and stuffed many pillows under it to maintain the shape. She made me slide down it, but I squashed it while trying :P
My sister also squashed the slide (:

Exams are coming :D one week away!
2M is so smart, everyone has started studying probably weeks ago.
and I started yesterday (:
which is kind of late considering the fact that there are actually people who have already finish studying certain subjects already! and probably a whole bunch who have memorised the whole history chapter by heart :)
But I feel happy :D
due to yesterday night (:
this strange happy feeling being in church and then walking out feeling happy.
And feeling sad the next morning, but after remembering about last night, I felt happy again!
